 At Samhain, amethyst is used for heightened intuition, spiritual protection, and connecting with ancestors because it is believed to open the third eye and calm the mind, facilitating communication with the spiritual realm and aiding in meaningful dreams. It can be integrated into rituals by meditating with it, placing it on an altar, or wearing it as jewelry to enhance spiritual awareness during this time when the veil between worlds is thin.  

Coloured moonstones are associated with Samhain due to their connection to feminine energy, intuition, spiritual journeys, and communing with ancestors. During Samhain, which represents a transition into the "new year" in some Celtic traditions, these stones are used for spiritual tools like scrying and communing with other realms, helping to open the third eye and deepen psychic powers to connect with the spirit world and ancestors. 

Star anise is associated with divination and astral travel. The origins of this are unclear, but star anise is often burned, simmered, or diffused to enhance psychic awareness, promote prophetic dreams, or reach an altered state of consciousness prior to hedge riding or other astral travel. The smoke can be used for scrying and the seeds are sometimes used as a pendulum.

Putka pods are small, dried seed pods that resemble miniature pumpkins and are used in pagan traditions, including Samhain, as a natural, eco-friendly decoration for altars and as a symbol of the harvest and the transition into the darker half of the year.
